It's happened again...

Painting and creativity took a back seat...again!

Hey Reader

When life gets busy... creativity is usually the first thing to slip...

Can I ask you a question?
When life gets busy...What usually slips to the bottom of your list?

I'm guessing it isn't work. It probably isn't the school run, looking after family, paying bills, doing the washing or remembering to buy milk.

No...It's probably the thing that deep down helps you have peace, clarity and joy - more than anything else.

Your painting. Your creativity.
As human beings - we're here to create.

But...Somehow - the thing that brings you joy becomes the thing you tell yourself you'll get round to "when things calm down."

And, yep...it happened to me again...As soon as life gets uber busy (hello Summer holidays and juggling childcare) Painting slips down the priority list...

But...Here's how a simple, quick change of mindset can bring clarity again.

Shrink things down...

For me, life feels so much simpler when I shrink everything down to just maybe 3 things... What's the 3 things I will not compromise on?

💛 Family & Friends.
🎨 Creativity & Nature.
🌿 Community & Contribution

Put simply...When I focus on those 3 things my cup feels full again.

But...I'm not going to lie - painting sometimes does become the thing that's squeezed in...And it's time to flip that!

I know that painting is the thing that gives me the headspace to cope with everything else.

I know that teaching and sharing painting is the thing that I'm supposed to be delivering to the world.

I know that when I share and see others learning from what I teach it brings me a whole bucket full of JOY.

So..from here on in. I make a promise (as my son says: "You don't break a promise mum"

I promise that..painting, sharing and teaching others is the 'one thing'

And to hold this promise, I need accountability just like you may too.
SO, I'm building The Joyful Art Collective - for me as well as for you.

"The Joyful Watercolour Collective - A place you return to when life feels too loud".

If you’ve ever wanted a regular moment in your month just for you, where the noise quietens, you disconnect and create, and nothing else matters then this space is for you.

If you'd like to join me inside a protected, creative, community driven space - where you can switch off and paint - for the sheer JOY OF IT.
Drop your name down and I'll share more soon...

The Joyful Watercolour Collective >>

Bye for now...
Go paint.

The one's that end up as scrap... Hey ReaderCan I let you into a little secret….There’s a messy pile of rejects in my studio - probably double those shown in the photo above.Because..Not every painting I create makes the cut.In fact... loads up in the recycling pile.Yep... we all have a stack of “that didn’t work out” paintings too and that’s fine... Because those flowers that actually turn out looking like potatoes - those paintings have an important job too. They're the ones that teach us...

It's time to ring fence and protect your creative time.. Hey ReaderIt’s been a little while, hasn’t it? 💛 Sorry - let me try and explain...My nan had a phrase... please try not to take offence - her phrase was " We've got it all 'arse backwards'" I THINK SHE MEANT LIFE...…work, family, to-do lists, all the everyday things that quietly take over. And somewhere in all of that, creativity slips behind. So, the one thing that I know that protects my mental health, helps me to switch off and...
